Invitation to the Impact Project Assessment Tool Workshop
NewsDear actors of the solidarity economy and impact finance,
We are pleased to invite you to a unique interactive workshop, aimed at co-creating a simple, agile, and robust evaluation tool to measure both the impact level and the economic viability of projects with strong social and environmental impact.
Tuesday, December 10, 2024, morning, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM in Geneva.
This workshop aims to:
- Develop a flexible evaluation framework to assist funders and project leaders through innovative tools, while ensuring ease of use even for small organizations.
- Develop an adaptable analysis tool, which facilitates interactions between funders, project leaders, and experts in the field of solidarity economy. The goal is to easily align projects with existing legal frameworks without replacing them.
- Optimize the allocation of financial resources by supporting high-potential citizen projects, maximizing the efficiency of mobilized funds.
Steps for users to use the tool
- Identification of Impact Projects
- Initial evaluation
- Follow-up and monitoring
- Support and coaching
- Acceleration and scaling-up levels
- Final evaluation and assessment
The tool’s 5 criteria groups
- Simplified financial base: among all strictly financial criteria, key criteria whose presence usually implies the presence of other criteria [1].
- High impact criteria: criteria to detect what, in the case of a particular Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), will truly make a difference, whether directly, through positive indirect consequences, a key factor effect, or addressing a root solution.
- Human Goals: alignment of the project with the values of donors and investors.
- Scale potential: the ability to increase activity, either through growth, replication, or ripple effects.
- Vital functions: the presence of each vital function enabling a learning and complex organization to be self-sustaining over time.
Workshop format
This workshop, organized as part of the Geneva Forum, is supported by the Geneva Foundation for the Future and its steering committee. Together, through dynamic exchanges and concrete feedback, we will develop a simple yet innovative analysis tool to promote interaction and collaboration between funders and project leaders. The ultimate goal is to maximize the impact of citizen investments.
To achieve this, ten professionals from the Impact Finance sector (Investment and Philanthropy) will each speak for five minutes during the first hour. Each intervention will focus on winning practices in the monitoring and evaluation of impact projects, such as identifying predictive criteria for success. Information about these professionals will be presented to participants ahead of the workshop to facilitate better interaction.
